Police: Shots fired during Roosevelt party
Nassau County police are investigating gunshots fired early Saturday morning during a house party in Roosevelt.
Officers responded just after midnight to Carroll Street near St. Francis Street, police said. They saw a large crowd exiting a house party and recovered multiple shell casings and found blood on St. Francis Street and Putnam Avenue, police said.
Neither the origin of the gunshots nor any injured victims were found after an extensive police search of the area, police said.
ShotSpotter, a technology that uses a collection of cameras and microphones that detects the sound of gunfire, alerted police to the incident.
Detectives request anyone with information about this incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
