Police: Shots fired into Hempstead home

Police are searching for the person who fired three gunshots into a home in Hempstead while a man and his two young children were inside.

The incident occurred just before midnight Wednesday on Byrd Street, Nassau County police said. The man, 24, and children, ages 4 months and 7 years, were not injured.
