A masked assailant robbed a Herricks mobile phone store Friday night and used an employee's car to make his getaway, Nassau County police said.

Shortly before 8 p.m., a robber entered a T-Mobile store at 3363 Hillside Ave. and forced a lone employee into a backroom, and ordered him to fill a bag with cash and cellphones, according to a police news release.

Police said he then took a ride in the employee's car -- with the employee in it -- for a several blocks before fleeing on foot with an unknown amount of loot. The robber, who was clad in all black, was unarmed and did not injure the employee, police said.

Third Squad detectives ask anyone with information about this incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
