Police: Teen charged with Halloween robberies
A Rosedale, Queens, teenager is facing robbery charges for a pair of Halloween holdups in Valley Stream, Nassau County police said.
About 5:30 p.m. Monday, Philip Paulino, 16, along with two others not yet arrested, exited a red Honda and attacked an 18-year-old man on West Merrick Road at Clearstream Avenue, police said. The victim was struck on the head and kicked, police said.
Paulino grabbed money from the man and fled with the others, according to police.
Later that day, at about 8:30 p.m., Paulino, armed with a handgun, approached two youths, ages 13 and 14, who were walking near Clearstream Avenue, police said.
The victims handed over a PlayStation Portable, a BlackBerry cellphone and cash, police said.
Police spotted the Honda on Thursday on Lake Drive East and arrested Paulino. He has been charged with two counts of robbery.
Paulino was arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead and held on $75,000 cash bail.
