Police: Teens charged after break-in
Eighth Precinct officers caught two 16-year-old Nassau County youths as they fled after allegedly burglarizing a Hicksville home Wednesday, police said.
Andrew Alagna 16, of 21 Michigan Dr., Hicksville, and Olivia Lucenti, 16, of 3830 Jacqueline St., Bethpage, were arrested on burglary charges after officers caught them leaving a home on Mayflower Drive at about 3 p.m. with jewelry, a laptop computer and loose coins, Nassau police said.
The two are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said the pair first broke into a house on Albert Road, gaining entry through a basement window. But Alagna and Lucenti bolted without taking anything when the house alarm was activated, police said.
They then tried a house on Mayflower Drive, but couldn't get in before settling on a second home on the block, police said.
