Police: Teens charged in Hempstead BB gun shooting
Two youths, ages 15 and 16, were arrested Wednesday and charged with shooting two other teens with a BB gun.
The incident occurred Monday night on Front Street in Hempstead, Nassau County police said. One victim was shot in the leg and arm, the other in the chest.
Police said both suffered lacerations and contusions, but did not seek medical attention at the scene.
The two defendants fled on foot but were arrested later, police said.
Arrested was Inmer Romero, 16, of 299 Jackson St., and the 15-year-old, who was not identified because he is being charged as a juvenile, police said.
The gun was recovered at Romero's house, police said.
Romero was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon. He was to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
