A Seaford woman was fatally struck by a tow truck Thursday morning while crossing Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park, police said.

There is “no apparent criminality” suspected at this time in the death of Rebecca M. Tighe, 26, Nassau County police said.

The tow truck was heading east on Sunrise at 4:45 a.m. when it struck Tighe, who was walking north across the highway at Park Boulevard, police said.

Tighe was pronounced dead at the scene by a police medic at 4:50 a.m. Brake and safety checks were performed on the tow truck, whose driver remained at the scene, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
