Police: Woman robbed on Elmont street
A 63-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and robbed of her pocketbook Saturday morning in Elmont, Nassau County police said.
The victim was outside a home on Alpha Street at 7:30 a.m. when she was approached from behind by an unidentified man who attempted to grab her pocketbook, police said.
A struggle ensued and the victim was knocked to the ground, police said. The suspect fled the scene with the pocketbook heading eastbound on Alpha Street. The victim was treated at the scene for contusions to both elbows.
The suspect is described as about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, with a thin build and wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
