A worker in his 40s was crushed to death in an industrial accident Thursday in Oceanside, Nassau County police said.

Police received a call about a man stuck in the machinery at concrete recycler IROC Industries, 55 New St., about 11:25 a.m., Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun said.

At the scene, police found the man, who was pronounced dead at 11:37 a.m.

“Preliminarily, it appears he did get caught in the conveyor belt of some type of machinery,” LeBrun said.

Homicide squad detectives are continuing to investigate, he said. Police did not immediately release the man’s identity.

LeBrun said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was on the scene investigating.

He also said police were not aware of previous accidents at the business.

A man who answered the phone at IROC Industries said no one was available to comment.
