Paving to close part of Nassau Expressway overnights, DOT says

Starting Wednesday night either a southbound or northbound lane of the Nassau Expressway in the Town of Hempstead will be closed from 10 p.m. through 6 a.m. to allow for repaving work, state officials said.

The overnight closures, between Burnside Avenue and Rockaway Turnpike, are expected to last around three weeks, weather permitting, said the state Department of Transportation.

Related roadwork will also be conducted at adjacent intersections and on sections of Peninsula and Bay boulevards, with Nassau Expressway traffic detoured around the construction work, the DOT said.
