Prisoner commits suicide at Nassau County jail
A 31-year-old prisoner at the Nassau County jail in East Meadow committed suicide Tuesday by hanging himself, police said.
The man was found hanging in his cell at 6:05 p.m., detectives said.
He was taken to the Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:02 p.m.
