Public's help sought in slaying of Shawn Boone
Police investigators are asking for the public's help in solving the July 5 murder of Shawn Boone in Hempstead.
Nassau County police said that Boone, 26, of Hempstead, was shot and killed on Princeton Street.
Police said that Hempstead police officers, responding to a 911 call reporting shots fired, found Boone fatally wounded in a vehicle at 1:23 a.m.
Boone was pronounced dead at the scene by Long Island Jewish Medical Center ambulance personnel, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the homicide to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS or the Nassau Homicide Squad at 516-573-7788. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
