Rain, snow and sleet are expected to hit Long Island Tuesday with the possibility the mix could turn into all snow.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the possible accumulation is about 1 inch. It was more than likely that the precipitation would turn to all rain before it is finished.

Chance of precipitation is 90 percent, forecasters said.

Temperatures are expected to remain near or above freezing, with lows around 32 degrees and highs around 40.

An east wind of between 17 and 21 mph is expected Tuesday and officials said rain and snow are likely between Wednesday and Friday.
