Saturday's heavy rainfall has lead to the closure of 14 North Shore beaches in Nassau County.

The county's Department of Health said stormwater runoff can cause bacterial levels in the ocean to rise to unsafe levels.

The closed beaches include:

Creek Club

Morgan Sound

Piping Rock Beach Club

Pryibil Beach

Ransom Beach

Soundside Beach

Stehli Beach

Tappen Beach

In addition, Biltmore Beach Club in Massapequa has been closed because of high bacterial levels.

For up-to-date information on beach closings and openings, call 516-227-9700.
