A man critically injured when a tractor trailer crashed into the car he was riding in Friday night on the Long Island Expressway has died, Nassau County police said on Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as Nuriddin Soliev, 31, of Glendale, Queens.

Soliev was one of two passengers in a 2023 Honda Civic that was headed west on the LIE when, police said, it was rear-ended by a 2011 Mack tractor trailer truck near Exit 34 in North Hills just before midnight Friday.

Police said the Civic was driven by a 32-year-old man, who suffered minor injuries. A passenger in the Honda, identified only as a 33-year-old man, also suffered minor injuries, police said.

The two injured occupants of the Honda were transported to hospitals, where police said they were treated and released.

But police said Soliev was critically injured in the crash and died on Monday.

Police also have not released the identities of the truck driver, the Honda driver or passenger who was hurt.

No charges have been filed in the crash.
