The owner of a popular Westbury restaurant was arrested Monday and charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl, police said.
Memet Arslan, 32, of Bellmore, owner of the Mediterranean Kebab Restaurant, 190 Post Ave., was charged with forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree sexual abuse.
Detectives said that after the restaurant's staff had left Thursday evening, Arslan locked the doors of the building, knowing the 16-year-old was still inside. He then grabbed her and began forcibly touching her, police said, but she was able to push him away and flee the restaurant.
The teenager told her father about the encounter Monday, he then notified police, according to officials.
Arslan was to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
