Roads in Nassau County have reopened Saturday afternoon after the funeral for Nassau County Police Officer Arthur Lopez at St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church on Gale Avenue in Baldwin.

Merrick Road in Baldwin between Harrison Avenue and Charing Cross Road had reopened Saturday afternoon following its closure at 9:30 a.m.

Nassau police had earlier issued an advisory saying that Merrick Avenue between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road in Merrick had reopened after having been closed just after 10 a.m.

Lopez, a decorated Emergency Services Unit officer from Babylon Village, was shot and killed Tuesday morning in the line of duty during a traffic stop on the Nassau-Queens border.

Darrell Fuller, 33, is facing first-degree murder charges after allegedly gunning down Lopez, 29, and then fatally shooting Raymond Facey, 58, of Brooklyn.
