Three robbers attacked a Uniondale man Friday night in his driveway, stole cash from his pocket and then hit him on the head with a pipe, Nassau County police said in a news release.

The man, 60, who lives on Hempstead Boulevard, suffered cuts to his head and was transported to a hospital.

The suspects, one of whom police said was armed with a shotgun, were described as in their 20s.

Police said they fled the scene in a 1990s Honda Accord, possibly red in color, and drove south on Emerson St.

This latest attack comes on the heels of 12 bag-snatching attempts since Oct. 23 in Nassau County. In each of those cases, two suspects were believed to be involved, weapons were not used and the victims were all women.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. Callers will remain anonymous.
