Police are searching for two men who they said robbed a 45-year-old man at gunpoint as he left a bank on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont on Thursday.

The victim had just made an ATM withdrawal at the Bank of America branch at 8 p.m. when he was approached by the robbers, who "displayed a handgun and demanded money," Nassau County police said.

The victim handed over $240 and the armed bandits fled, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
