Wantagh man reported missing after suicide attempt, police say

A Silver Alert was issued Saturday for a Wantagh man who police said was reported missing after he was last seen attempting to hang himself at his home.
Robert Mazzarella, 52, was last seen at his home on White Birch Court on Friday at 8:58 p.m., Nassau County police said. He was wearing a yellow Jimi Hendrix T-shirt, light green pants and brown shoes, police said.
His last known whereabouts are in the Deer Park area of Suffolk County, according to police.
Mazzarella is 6 feet tall and 230 pounds with brown eyes, closely-cropped black hair and a salt-and-pepper goatee, police said. He has a black 1997 Ford pickup with a New York license plate number of ERN-7594, police said.
