A Huntington man died late Friday evening and his female passenger was injured when his motorcycle crashed into another vehicle in Plainview, Nassau County police said.
Robert Stawkowski, 54, was driving a 2001 Harley-Davidson on Woodbury Road shortly after 11 p.m.
As Stawkowski approached the intersection at East Court, he collided with the rear of a Toyota that was operated by a 21-year-old man, who was turning onto Woodbury Road heading northbound, police said.
Stawkowski was pronounced dead at the scene and his 41-year-old passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries, police said. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety examinations but police said there is no criminality involved.
