A Silver Alert was issued on Tuesday for a 46-year-old man suffering from a cognitive disorder who went missing from his group home in Hewlett, the police said.

Clad in an orange sweatshirt and blue jeans, Robert Zavatski Jr. might have been headed to Lynbrook or Inwood, police said.

Zavatski, who needs several medications, is a white man who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Silver Alerts help hospitals and the public spot missing individuals who are vulnerable because they are seniors or suffering from illnesses.
