A pedestrian was struck and killed late Saturday in Rockville Centre by a motorcycle whose operator suffered serious injuries, Nassau police said.

The 42-year-old man who died, identified Tuesday as Scott Brower,42, of Rockville Center, was crossing Merrick Road from north to south near North Forest Avenue at about 11:50 p.m. when a 2020 BMW motorcycle hit him, police said. The motorcyclist, a 36-year-old man traveling eastbound on Merrick Road, was ejected from the bike, which then struck a 2012 Honda Civic also heading east, according to police.

The names of both victims were not immediately available.

Both the pedestrian and the motorcyclist suffered multiple trauma injuries and were taken to a hospital. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, according to police. The motorcyclist is listed in serious condition, police said.

The Honda driver, a 19-year-old male, stayed at the scene and was not injured. The Honda went through a brake and safety check at the scene and the motorcycle was impounded, police said.
