One person was injured after being struck in the face by an unknown subject during a disturbance that police said caused a number of shoppers to flee Roosevelt Field Mall Sunday afternoon in Garden City.
No arrests have been made and Nassau County police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Police said officers responding to a disturbance call at 3:49 p.m. said witnesses notified them that "a large fight" had occurred in front of Victoria's Secret — causing a number of people to flee the exit near Macy's.
Police said a 21-year-old man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries after having been struck in the face during the incident. Additional details were not immediately available.
Mall security had no comment on the situation and mall management could not immediately be reached for comment.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 911 or Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-516-244-TIPS.
All calls will remain confidential.
