Roosevelt home set on fire
Someone broke into a house in Roosevelt on Monday evening, poured a flammable liquid on the staircase to the second floor and set fire to the home, Nassau County police said.
The residents were not home at the time and no one was injured, police said.
The fire at the house, on Park Avenue, was reported just before 9 p.m. Fire officials said the house was not significantly damaged. Ten fire engines and more than 100 firefighters responded to the scene, officials said.
