Roosevelt man arrested on gun, drug charges
A Roosevelt man who police spotted carrying a weapon was arrested Friday in Uniondale, Nassau County police said.
Stephen Jarell Richardson, 19, was walking on Ditmas Avenue near Alexander Avenue about 11 p.m. Friday, police said. Officers from the First Precinct saw him carrying a small handgun and stopped him. Richardson had a loaded .22-caliber Lorcin Model L22 and marijuana, police said.
Police charged Richardson with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and possession of marijuana. He was awaiting arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead.
