A Roosevelt man faces charges of weapons possession and menacing after showing an automatic handgun Sunday in an altercation with another man, Nassau County police said.

First Squad detectives said police were called to a disturbance at 38 Mansfield Rd. in Roosevelt at about 4:50 p.m. When they arrived at the residence, they found Juan Martinez, 47, in possession of the handgun, police said.

Martinez showed the handgun in a menacing fashion to a 24-year-old man, who also lives at the same address, police said.

There were no injuries, police said.

Martinez faces two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
