Roosevelt man faces weapons charge

A 21-year-old Roosevelt man was arrested and charged with weapons possession Tuesday night after officers spotted him carrying a handgun near his home on Thoma Place, police said.

Wade, charged with second-degree and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, was remanded to Nassau County Correctional Center on $5,000 bail, or $10,000 bond. His next court appearance is March 9 in District Court in Mineola.
