Roslyn gas station robbed at gunpoint

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Gulf gas station at gunpoint Monday night in Roslyn, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Nassau County police said the armed robbery was at the gas station on Old Northern Boulevard at 10:30 p.m.

The bandit, armed with a silver handgun, walked into the station wearing a dark colored bandanna over his face, approached the attendant and demanded cash, police said.

He fled on foot. There were no customers at the station at the time. No one was injured.

Police said the man was 6-foot-3 or 6-foot-4, about 170 pounds, and wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans that were faded on the front and back, and a dark baseball hat.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
