School bus crash sends kids to hospital

School children were transported to a local hospital in Nassau County for precautionary evaluations after a crash between a car and a school bus in East Williston at about 9 a.m., police and fire officials told Newsday.

The accident occurred on Roslyn Road near Summit Avenue, police said. The age of the children involved was not immediately clear. It also was not clear how many children were on the school bus.

Fire officials called the accident "minor," but said the children were being transported because they are minors.
