Three people were forced from their Seaford Harbor home after an early morning fire Friday morning.
Wantagh firefighters were called to a fire at 5:14 a.m. at a three-story home on Peconic Avenue near Bayview Street, where they found heavy flames, Nassau County fire marshal officials said.
Firefighters worked to protect the fire from spreading to neighboring homes. About 75 firefighters from Massapequa, Seaford, Bellmore, North Bellmore and Merrick helped extinguish the blaze in about one hour and 45 minutes, officials said.
No injuries were reported. The residents were working with the American Red Cross to relocate after the fire.
Firefighters continued to douse hot spots at the home on Friday morning, while Town of Hempstead building department inspectors surveyed the damage.
The Nassau fire marshal's office and police arson/bomb squad are investigating the cause of the blaze.
