Second man arrested in Westbury ID fraud case

A second man was arrested Monday and charged with using personal information of customers of a Westbury car dealership to get credit cards and make purchases in excess of $1,100, Nassau police said.

Douwon Jackson, 20, of no known address, was charged with forgery, possession of a forged instrument and identity theft, police said.

Christopher Costa, 21, of Hempstead, an employee of Advantage Nissan, 939 Old Country Rd., Westbury, was arrested July 20 on charges of possession of a forged instrument, identity theft and possession of personal identification.

During the first week of July, Costa obtained names, dates of birth and Social Security Numbers of three Advantage Nissan customers, police said. With that information, Costa was able to get credit cards online with Chase Bank and make purchases, police said.

Jackson was to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
