Man stopped for speeding in Lynbrook, charged with gun possession, Nassau police say

Nassau detectives said Sunday they arrested a Baldwin man and charged him with criminal possession of a gun.
Shane A. Price, 18, of 940 Northern Blvd., Baldwin, was stopped by a Lynbrook Village police officer for speeding while driving west on Merrick Road at North Prospect Avenue about 12:32 a.m., Nassau Fourth Squad detectives said.
The officer found marijuana, a Lorcin L380 pistol and a loaded magazine for the firearm in Price's 2011 Volkswagen, Nassau police said. Price was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding.
At arraignment Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead, Price was held on bail of $10,000 bond, or $5,000 cash, which had not been posted late Sunday night.
