Police seek suspect in robbery of Elmont service station
The robber wore a black knit mask and a black bubble-style jacket, police said. He suggested he was carrying a handgun.
Now, Nassau County police are trying to locate the suspect, who they said robbed a Shell gas station on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont on Monday night, stealing cash before fleeing.
The robbery took place at 9:25 p.m., police said.
It was not clear if the suspect had a gun or was merely "simulating" he had a gun.
Police said the suspect wore a mask with eye holes. He fled on foot north on Covert Avenue, police said.
Police said Fourth Squad detectives are investigating.
