Two people were arrested after police said they used counterfeit $100 bills to make purchases at a Rockville Centre CVS pharmacy.

Nassau County police said Ramel Epps, 23, of 37 Elm St. in Freeport, and Frederick Barrett, 31, of 134 Long Beach Rd. in Hempstead, along with two females who have not yet been arrested, entered the CVS at 598 Merrick Rd. on Sunday and made purchases using the counterfeit money.

Police said Epps and Barrett went to the same CVS on Monday at 12:19 a.m. and tried to buy more items using additional counterfeit $100 bills. Store employees recognized the men and called Rockville Centre police. Both men were arrested.

After the arrests, officers found that the two had 55 counterfeit $100 bills in their possession, police said.

Police said Epps was charged with 31 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. Barrett was charged with 19 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. They will be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
