Cops: Burglar found hiding in Uniondale home's crawl space
Two Hempstead men face burglary charges, one of whom was arrested while hiding in a crawl space of a Uniondale home, Nassau County police said Tuesday.
Shukur Carrion, 20, of 22 Dakota Place, and Marlon R. Castellanos, 19, of 71 Vermont Ave., were arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead. Carrion was held on a $25,000 bail. Castellanos was held on a $10,000 bail.
Carrion was found in a second-floor crawl space at a home on Fenimore Avenue after police responded to a call for a burglary at about 6:40 p.m. Monday, police said in a news release.
Carrion declined to obey orders from police and "began flailing his arms, refusing to allow them to place him under arrest," the release said.
Carrion also faces a charge of resisting arrest.
Castellanos was found hiding in a vehicle outside the home and was placed under arrest without incident, police said.
