Nassau police are investigating after a bank employee found a skimming device at an ATM at Apple Bank for Savings branch in Carle Place on Saturday.

Police said an employee of the branch, at 195 Old Country Rd., discovered the device during routine inspection of the machine at 2:24 p.m. The bank gave the device to detectives.

A possible suspect, a thin man, between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall, was seen on the bank's surveillance video in the minutes before the device was found.

Police ask anyone who used the ATM at that branch to check their statements for any fraudulent charges.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Calls are kept confidential.
