Smoke and fire at Gold Coast Studios Wednesday and Thursday won’t be cause for concern, Nassau County police said Wednesday.
A film crew shooting scenes at the studio, at 700 Hicksville Rd. in Bethpage, will be lighting an outdoor stage on fire on Wednesday and Thursday. The smoke and flames may be visible to residents of Bethpage, Hicksville and Plainview between 3 and 10 p.m. on both days, police said.
Police are putting the word out so those who live and work in the area are aware that the smoke and fire are part of the movie production and not an emergency.
The county fire marshal and Nassau police’s arson/bomb squad will be present during the two-day shoot.
The studio has hosted shoots for a number of television shows and movies, including 2014’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” and “Sisters” and “America’s Got Talent,” this year.
