A South Farmingdale man has been charged with assault after Nassau County police said he attacked a 61-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said Raymond Foreman, 47, was arrested after Second Precinct officers responded to a call for a fight at a Main Street residence at 3 p.m. There, they found the 61-year-old victim bleeding from his nose, mouth and head. The victim told police Foreman had attacked and beat him with a "cement-type object."

Foreman was arrested at the scene without further incident, police said, and the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Foreman is being charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
