A two-vehicle accident on the Southern State Parkway Friday morning closed all westbound lanes near Route 109 in East Farmingdale for nearly two hours, State Police said.

The accident occurred at about 10:35 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation website, informny.com. Normal traffic was restored at about 12:23 p.m.

A State Police spokesman said the driver of a Mustang traveling west slid across the lanes of the parkway and was hit by a Jeep.

The spokesman said both drivers were taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.

No other information was immediately available.
