Stabbed Garden City man upgraded to stable

Hospital officials Monday upgraded the condition of the Garden City man whose wife, police said, stabbed him in the chest with a steak knife Sunday.
A spokeswoman for Winthrop-University Hospital said doctors had upgraded Peter Marrinan's condition from critical to stable.
Marrinan, 57, was stabbed Sunday evening after he and his wife, Elizabeth Marrinan, 47, "became involved in a domestic incident . . . that became physical," police said in a release.
The argument culminated in the stabbing at the couple's Pine Street home, police said.
Garden City police responded to the scene at 6:07 p.m. Sunday and arrested Elizabeth Marrinan without incident. At her arraignment in Nassau District Court in Hempstead, Judge Helen Voutsinas ordered her held on $1 million bond on a charge of attempted murder.
Elizabeth Marrinan told investigators she acted in self-defense, said a source with knowledge of the case.
