State cops ticket dozens in safety check
A six-hour safety check Tuesday conducted by State Police in Nassau County resulted in 66 tickets, the law-enforcement agency said.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., troopers checked cars on the ramp at Hempstead Turnpike and the Meadowbrook State Parkway, according to a release.
Troopers issued 27 tickets for seat belt violations and 39 additional citations for other violations, according to a release.
