A Huntington man stopped Saturday for driving erratically on the Northern State Parkway in New Cassel faces a drunken driving charge, State Police said.

A trooper saw a Black Nissan drive across hazardous road markings on the eastbound side of the parkway at about 9:56 p.m., according to a release. The driver then entered the ramp of the southbound Wantagh Parkway and crossed hazardous markings again before continuing east on the Northern State Parkway, the release said.

As troopers interviewed the driver, Adrian Muldowney, 32, of Meath Avenue, they noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from his car, police said.

Muldowney failed sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, and traffic violations, police said. He provided a breath-analyzer sample of .17 percent, police said.

He is due to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on April 18, police said.

On Saturday, troopers arrested a Manorville woman on a felony DWI charge after she was stopped for speeding in a black Cadillac on Route 27 in Southampton, police said.

At about 12:40 a.m., Eleanor Geier, 27, of Mini Court, was driving 87 mph in a posted 55 mph zone on westbound Route 27 near Exit 62, Route 111, police said.

Troopers also said Geier had passed other motorists unsafely and was tailgating before being pulled over.

During her interview, Geier had bloodshot, watery eyes and an odor of alcohol was detected, police said.

She failed sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with DWI, police said.

Police said that because of a previous drunken driving conviction Geier's DWI charge is a felony. She also faces several traffic violations.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.
