Sunrise Highway crash injures one, highway now reopened

Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park was closed for nearly 45 minutes Monday after a minivan rear-ended a box truck, injuring the driver of the van, Nassau County police said.
The driver hit the back of the truck on westbound Sunrise Highway near Cartwright Boulevard at about 1:30 p.m., police said.
Police did not have details on the injuries. But a department spokesman said the driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital for evaluation and was expected to be released.
Westbound Sunrise Highway was reopened to traffic at around 2:15 p.m., police said.
