A man with a gun robbed a gas station in Valley Stream late Wednesday and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, Nassau County police said.

The man entered the BP gas station at 385 W. Merrick Rd. about 11:45 p.m., displayed a black handgun and demanded money from the male clerk, police said.

The robber fled on foot, police said.

He was described as a being about 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-8 and wearing a green T-shirt and a camouflage baseball cap.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TPS (8477).
