Nassau County police detectives are looking for the suspect in an East Meadow liquor store robbery that occurred Friday night.

Police said a man entered Patel's Wines & Liquors, at 2685 N. Jerusalem Ave., before 8:30 p.m. with a hooded sweatshirt over his face, demanding money from the register.

A 31-year-old employee and her 3-year-old daughter were the only people in the store at the time, police said.

The suspect walked behind the counter, opened the register and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim ran out the front of the store with her daughter, police said.

The suspect fled the store and was seen by a witness getting into a black four-door Honda Accord on Vernon Avenue. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on North Jerusalem Avenue.

No customers were in the store at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, wearing gloves, dark-blue pants and a gray-and-black striped hooded shirt.

Detectives ask anyone with information on this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
