Suspect sought in Great Neck street robbery

Third Squad detectives are looking for a man who stole a woman's backpack as she was walking Thursday in Great Neck, Nassau County police said.

The woman, 44, who was not injured in the attack, was walking near Wood Road and Arrandale Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. when a man grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground, police said.

The man snatched her backpack, which contained an unspecified amount of money, and fled west, on Polo Road, police said.
