Suspect threatens teen with baton in Valley Stream robbery, police say

The suspect carried a silver baton, police said, and threatened a teen with it before stealing his cellphone and ear buds Sunday night in Valley Stream.

The robbery took place on South Everett Street at about 10:15 p.m., Nassau County police said. The victim, identified only as a 19-year-old man, was not injured.

Police said the victim was approached by the suspect, who was armed with the baton and demanded the teen hand over his property. The suspect then stole the cellphone and ear buds, before fleeing on foot.

The robber wore a black hoodie and gray shorts.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
