Suspects sought in Valley Stream robbery

Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a Vitamin Shoppe store on Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream on Monday evening, police said.

Nassau County police said the two robbers entered the store at about 7:05 p.m., announced the robbery, followed the store clerk to the cash register -- and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The two then fled.

Two employees and one customer were in the store at the time of the robbery. No one was injured.

Police said one robber was in his 40s or early 50s, about 5-foot-7, 140 pounds and wore a black hooded raincoat.

The other robber was about 50 years old, about 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds. He also wore a dark raincoat, police said.
