Detectives are looking for information on a reckless endangerment incident Tuesday night in which one man pointed a handgun at the resident of a Valley Stream home and fired a round, hitting the home, Nassau County police said.

At 11:33 p.m. the 36-year-old man who lives in the South Montgomery Street home saw in his backyard a man, 20 to 25 years old, pointing a gun at and chasing a second man, whose face was covered by an article of clothing, police said.

The gunman -- of small build and wearing a white T-shirt and green pants -- then pointed the weapon at the resident and shot at his house, according to police, at which point the resident spotted yet a third man standing in the driveway.

All three subjects fled on foot, and there were no injuries reported, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 800-244-TIPS.
